Zen Cardamom

Hi everyone, long time since i did an actual blog post i know, there´s been so much to pin lately, because as usual SL is buzzing with events and activities, something i love, so this blog post comes with a bit of a delay.

You all know how much i love events, and i keep earing constantly of people saying, they are to many events i can´t keep up with them all, well i sometimes think there aren´t enough events, that even tho the amount of mainstream shop do get represented, a lot of cliques and small groups and communities, don´t get the same exposure, and they sure deserve it.

We <3 Roleplay came to fill in a void for the rp community, so has Genre since the start of this year, and even now as World Goth Fair starts, suddenly a bunch of groups that are so far away from your usual mainstream fashion are getting noticed and filling up gaps and showing us new shops, making our SL more diverse and exciting.

So today i bring you guys a mix of events, Culprit at this months´s FaMESHed birthday edition, one of my favourite furniture shops at one of my favourite mainstream events, and a skin from Jalwa available only at another event  World Goth Fair a not so mainstream but incredibly popular one

These are a few of my favourite things part 2

Some time ago i did a blog about some of my favourite shops over the past year, on that post you can find here: These are a few of my favourite things part 1 i talked mostly about skins, and of course a lot was left out, so today i bring you clothes and jewelry.

Now let´s talk about clothes, the advent of mesh brought a lot of changes to how we wear clothes these day, issues with standard sizes, templates and deformer where highly talked this year, most creators had to adapt and learn not also mesh but rigging, for some it was easier than for others, a huge amount of new shops came out, and a few won ground in customer preferences. I adore mesh clothes, system layers and even hybrids of both.

The amount of shops i usually wear here is quite big and it would be impossible to talk extensively about them all, so i´m gonna simply name a few of my favourites over the past year and talk maybe a bit more on some newcomers.

My favourites for blogging and regular wear this year where: Maitreya, Geometry, Bilo, Zaara, League, Cracked Mirror, Erratic, Ingenue, ColdLogic, These of course are just a few of the many brands you can find in SL or my inventory, but basically the shops i end up wearing more here and/or inworld: But a few shops stand out for me this year as you can see on my next paragraph.

It was pretty cool to see Glam Affair  start doing clothes and even more recently hair also, i can´t wait to see more clothes from them.

I don´t really do Roleplay in SL but Volstead  that started as an entry of clothes for a themed 20´s RP sim contest has won my heart and not only are the clothes gorgeous and some of my favourite of this year, but they work outside of RP environments.

Another two shops i´ve keep and eye on most of the year are Perception and 22769 – casual couture, Maggie started doing corsets and does some of the best shaped ones in sl due to her knowledge in corsetery in actual RL, and i´ve seen her work move well father away from simply corsets to a whole new array of products.

In the meanwhile the boys from 22769 can basically do it all it seems, they do furniture, clothes for both sexes house and decor stuff, there´s nothing they can´t do and they do it always with a smile, meaning Manu and Paco also get a prize for nicest creators in SL this year.

Now jewelry, in RL i can´t wear earings, not for more than 15 minutes before the itching starts i don´t wear necklaces either because i don´t like things around my neck, but in sl i can and do wear all of those, this year we had a few newcomers i fell in love with like House of Rain, stores i already knew and wore like, [HANDverk], LaGyo and lassitude & ennui and the biggest surprise of them all  Maxi Gossamer who now makes some of their sl pieces available for you also in Rl, follow the link to see which models are available here.

All i want for Gothmas…

It´s you, to come and join me at today´s opening of Gothmas by Gaslight.

You might remember Gothmas by Gaslight from last year but in the hunt format, this year it´s back but with something we all love a lot more, which is gatchas, i enjoy Christmas a lot but mostly in RL to be honest in SL around this time of year i tend to stay away from the holiday items, and that´s why i adore Gothmas by Gaslight, and the darker twist on the traditional things we get to see all over around this season.

I also like Gothy stuff, although i have no idea what i´m doing with it most of the time really, do enjoy it even tho i´m certainly sure, i don´t have a goth bone in me, as i see it a wonderful way to experiment with looks and get away from my comfort zone completely, and i´m lucky that my good friend Bronxie who is the most GAF (goth as f***) person i know let´s me tag along all goth events she´s involved without calling me out on my lack of gothyness .

So I hope you´re all ready for an amazing event that starts today and lasts until the 15th of January, and a cute darker twist on this holiday season. Just wait till you see my Gothmas tree guys.

Goodbye and good luck

Well this month marked the end of The ZombiePopcorn, since 2009 they have done hunts and events some bi-weekly, some anualy all pretty much amazing, and had the wonderful chance to blog with them latelly for the last few months, but is good to see people going for new things in RL, which is what happened in this case, so this blog post is a goodbye and good luck to all of those involved in this amazing project, and a way to show of all the posts i had the pleasure of doing in their website.

Sun over water

Again a mix of several events and a new release, as far as events go, first The Gallery Gift Shop, where you can find this cute long flowy mesh assembles from the boys at 22769, this time what amazed me more about this outfit available at TGGS, wasn´t the mesh, which i´ve notice has been improving in leaps and shows a certain level of maturity with working it that comes from hard work, but the texturing, i really enjoyed the texturing on these two pieces, it´s flowy and still geometric and of course i imagine this shirt was a pain to rigg like most long shirts, but it´s a very well done job.

Also from the TGGS is the makeup i´m wearing from [ Lucky #7 ] , and i wish they did more makeups like this one, it just screams colour and can basically make a whole look.

From FaMESHed, or fame shed or famished however you call it, we do love a nickname for our favourite events, is this gorgeous as usual Maxi Gossamer set, i´m not usually a fan of chains myself, but i really like these and they work with almost any outfit, again detailed mesh jewelry like these is hard to come by.

I´m also wearing a new release from booN, i had no idea they usually had the new releases for a discount sometimes, and just tought to myself, oh i haven´t checked booN in sometime i should pop there, and when i did i just fell in love with this hair, is cute and also works with a lot of looks, be it more naive or sophisticated.

For the skin i picked a slightly darker toned Al Vulo here since for some silly reason i haven´t blogged the brand in some time and i had this one just waiting to be used, after i grabbed it either at The Dressing Room or The Dressing Rom Blue some time ago.

I must admit i was in a bit of a rush to take the pics so i picked a simple background at some random location and forgot which poses i used which is inadmissible for me because i always try to credit the poses, sorry for that folks, i promise to be more careful with that next time, for today it´s all, i promise to come back tomorrow with more new releases, maybe some Vintage Fair and new events.

Under my skin

I never did a skin review, and i´m so new at this i even gave it a obviously punny title, something i seem to have got going on lately, but pardon me because it is my first please.

Today i bring some bad news and some good news, and as usual at least when it happens to me in real life i ask please hit me with the bad news first, so here it is, sadly Nomine, just release their last non-fantasy skin, it´s called The Nephilim line, and it´s perfcet for those who like me in rl are sun-challenged, this set of very pale skins will be the last and the same will happen to the male skins also.

Now this is the bit where i bring in the good news, right? And those are that Nomine will be only making Fantasy skins from now on, so at the end of the day Munchflower Zaius, is simply focusing on what she does best, which is work on fantasy items, and that´s pretty awesome news.

Anyways back to the skin, i tried to show as much has possible to show all that is available for the skin, the 5 beautiful pale tones, from an almost pure white to the still pale but human, and the wide range of makeups available, that go from the usual bare, to a more sci-fi, fantasy or sexy look.

So anyways drop in at Nomine store and try a demo if not just to say goodbye to the store´s last human skin, in the mean while fantasy reigns, and will be out soon i´m sure.

Over my head

Is how i feel about the upcoming Hair Fair, it was also a bad pun with it being about hair and hair covering your head, and i simply suck at finding good titles, i don´t really feel over my head about it to be honest, i´m just anxious since it´s my first time blogging the event, and i´m very proud to do it officially, being so new to blogging and all, but this is not about me, it´s about wigs, bandanas and hair.

First is about wigs, more specially WIGS for KIDS , a non-profit organization that for 30 years has been providing wigs for children who suffered hair loss due to chemotherapy, radiation therapy, Alopecia, Trichotillomania, burns and other medical issues, and the charity that will be benefiting from the donations, we can do thru shopping.

Second it is about  bandanas and participating in Bandana Day on the 29th July at Hair Fair 2012. On Bandana Day a tradition started in 2007, we are all encouraged to wear all over SL, bandanas decorated by designers (not just hair creators!) that will be found at the Fair.

And finally is also about hair, and having most of SL Hair stores all in one place showing of new exclusive items, and we know how much we love our hairs, i know i do and i can´t wait to be able to see what the event of mesh brought to the hair market, while helping a great organization at the same time.

So i await for next friday for the bloggers preview and for the official opening on Saturday. By the way next friday let´s see if i can show some of the Fair, so keep an eye on the blog and on my flickr folks.

Waiting

Today i bring you the last on a in a series of several, The last Nomine exclusive Fantasy gowns, The Ameno, like all others  in the collection they where limited editions of 12 gowns per colour, available in several colours and with a huge amount of layer options and variations including quite a few underwear options i´m to much of a prude to show you all (yes i even blushed a little when i typed that).

I also bring you something slightly different, it´s no secret i love landscaping and plants and so today i also bring you some mesh plants one is a group gift from the Booshies folks available at Booshtopia and those mystical creatures feed of them, the others are from Refined Wild that i have blogged before around these parts and are also mesh.

All these things in my inventory where dying to come out, and i could just picture a noble lady waiting by the sea. But what dos she wait for? A lover? A message? A treasure? I think we´ll see that soon, sinces o much lies out there in the waves, and who knows what the sea hides.

Champagne

Today i bring you Champange, because it´s the perfect drink for celebrations, and we are still celebrating the second anniversary of CHIC Management with CHIC² and its there you can find this classic beauty of a dress from Geometry, while the front is a simple classic look fit for any occasion, the back surprises you with detailed beads making it even more powerful, and certainly a timeless classic.

Of all the colours this was certainly my favourite , I admit i usually stick to my favourites, reds, purples and blacks, but this colour seemed just perfect for this style i even did the one thing i though i would never do, which is to go blonde for it.

Also timeless are the mules i´m wearing, i´ve said several times i am not much of a shoe person, both in RL and SL so whenever i have to wear shoes i pick models that are versatile and that i can wear with several looks, it´s why these mules from lassitude & ennui are all over my blog, first they are a classic more vintage looking model that never really goes out of fashion, and second since my av is a bit on the small side, they are perfect for my height, since i hate to see my avatar i extremely long heels.

Also this week i visited FaMESHed like i do every month, to grab some of my favourite brands new releases, Maxi Gossamer and their exquisite detailed mesh jewelry pieces. By the way I was also thrilled to see that Glam Affair is also doing mesh clothes now, which i will show you later, in the meanwhile i grabbed their lovely new skin at The Dressing Room.

Happy Birthday CHIC!!

As i blogged yesterday the CHIC²  event, which celebrates the second aniversary of Chic Management, and even if the event opened yesterday, today is the official birthday, and to celebrate  it we have a wide selection of creators, that made exclusive items for this event.

So until the 24th of this month you can visit and shop for all these new products by some of SL finest content creators at this location.

Today i bring you the perfect chic pary dress from Bilo, a lovely new skin from Al Vulo, and a couple more buys not event related, it´s time to step out and blow up those birthday candles.
